On July 9, 2026, NHTSA said Kia had issued a new park-outside recall for 462,869 model-year 2020–2024 Tellurides. The agency said the vehicles had already been recalled in 2024 for the same issue and should stay outside, away from buildings and other vehicles, until the new remedy is complete.

NHTSA said a struck or damaged front power-seat slide cover or knob could damage or dislodge the switch, allowing continuous motor operation, overheating and fire. It also reported seven seat fires and 11 melted seat motors.

The July notice said dealers would install an electronic fuse assembly. Its July/August VIN-search and owner-letter dates are schedules in that dated notice; this backfill does not verify any particular vehicle’s current repair status.
