Published search rule
How search results are ordered.
Agenarys does not recommend businesses. We test them and publish what we find. Results are ordered by seal tier and distance — never by payment — and the ordering rule is published here.
01 / SEAL TIER
TESTED STATUS COMES FIRST
The order is Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, then unsealed. An unsealed business is untested by Agenarys; it has not failed. Certification requires a paid audit, but payment does not decide the tier and cannot move a business above another business with a higher seal tier.
02 / DISTANCE
NEAREST FIRST WITHIN A TIER
Within the same seal tier, results with a measured location are ordered by straight-line distance from the location in the search. If distance cannot be measured from retrieved coordinates, the result follows results whose distance can be measured.
03 / COMPLETENESS
MORE RETRIEVED FACTS BREAK THE NEXT TIE
When tier and distance are equal, Agenarys counts which retrieved fields are present: business name, address, phone, website, hours, service category, and description. More complete retrieved data appears first. Agenarys does not invent missing information.
04 / STABLE ID
THE FINAL ORDER IS REPEATABLE
If the first three values are equal, the stable business ID is used alphabetically. This final key makes identical searches return the same complete order instead of changing at random.
05 / NEVER A SORT KEY
WHAT DOES NOT MOVE A RESULT
Payment, premium status, plan, subscription, advertising spend, and rating are never ranking inputs. Ratings may be displayed as retrieved information, but they never change the result order.
