Why underwriters ask about it
in every automation incident, the first minutes are about one question: how do we stop it? A written kill-switch list turns panic into procedure.
How to fix it
- For each automation, write down exactly how to stop it — the setting, the unplug, the vendor's off switch — and who has access.
- Keep the list where people can reach it without the systems that might be misbehaving (printed counts).
- Walk through it once so the steps are real, not theoretical.
